Hollywood Theaters Company History
Our story began in 1991, when current Chairman and CEO Scott Wallace founded Wallace Theater Corporation (“Wallace”) with the acquisition of six theaters in California and Nevada. The company expanded into Hawaii in 1992 and grew steadily over the next seven years. In 1999, Wallace acquired Hollywood Theaters, Inc., which operated 73 theaters with 502 screens. Over the next several years, the company, now known as Hollywood Theaters, focused on increasing the percentage of stadium format theaters in our portfolio to enhance the customer experience. From 2003 to the present, we continued to assess and refine our theater circuit in order to provide more choice, convenience and entertainment value in the markets we serve. In 2008, we acquired theaters in Guam and Saipan.
Today, Hollywood Theaters is the seventh-largest motion picture exhibitor in the United States, based on number of screens. We’d love to have you join us for a movie today.
